ラルフローレンといえば、言わずと知れたアメリカ生まれのアパレルブランドです。アパレルブランドは数多くありますが、これほどまでにバランスの良いブランドはなかなか無いのではないでしょうか。フォーマル、カジュアル、スポーティー、パーティー…どの用途にも嫌味なく、しかもオシャレに着こなすことが出来るラルフローレン。ケバさもほとんどありませんので、例えばラルフローレンでデートに行っても全然OK！というかむしろ歓迎です。
例えばシャ○ル…ちょっとけばいイメージがありますよね。もちろんそれを狙ったり、そういったイメージが好き！という人もたくさんいらっしゃると思います。それはそれで良いのですが、果たしてブランド側はそういったイメージを持って欲しかったのかと言うと、微妙に違うのではないでしょうか。
そういった意味でも、ラルフローレンのブランディングは上手だったんじゃないかと思います。やはりベビー服や子供服、寝具などに至るまで、「家庭向き」なイメージが奏功したのではないでしょうか。私見ですが。そんなわけで、ラルフローレンの人気はまだまだ止まることを知らない状況。海外に行けばショッピングでDFSに行かれることも多いと思いますが、一等地に、でかでかとテナントを出しているのがやはりラルフローレン。さすがですね。
